Support

Hard moments don't wait for group. Here's what you have between sessions.

  • In crisis? 988. Call or text any time, day or night.
  • Family can help. Ask how family can be involved and what consent is needed.
  • A clear next step. If PathWell isn't the fit, we point you to what is.
Where IOP fits

More than weekly therapy. Home every day.

An IOP sits between an hour a week and a hospital stay. You sleep in your own bed and keep your afternoons. The assessment decides which level fits.

FAQs

Questions people ask.

Short answers to common questions.

All questions
Do I need a referral from a doctor or therapist?

You can contact us yourself. Some health plans need a referral or other paperwork, and we'll help you check what yours needs.

What is an assessment, and what should I bring?

It's a conversation with a clinician about how you're doing, your daily life and any past treatment. Bring a list of your medications and your questions. Ask us what else to bring.

What happens during an IOP session?

Group therapy, learning about mental health, and practicing coping skills. Your treatment plan shapes what you work on. Ask us what your sessions will include.

What should I expect at my first group?

Ask us about arrival time, what the morning looks like and who to talk to if something feels off. It helps to write your questions down ahead of time.

Will I have to share personal details in group?

You don't have to share everything. Tell the clinician if a topic feels hard, and ask how participation works before you start.
